‘Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan – Kyoto Douran’ Reveals Supporting Cast, Fourth Promo

The Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan – Kyoto Douran (Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance) Super Red Stage at Jump Festa 2025 revealed supporting cast, second cour’s opening theme, and a story visual (pictured above) on Saturday.

The second cour’s opening “BURN” is being performed by J-pop artist yama and WurtS, previewed in the promotional video below.

Yuki Komada (Build Divide: Code Black) is directing the second season at LIDENFILMS, with assistant director Yoshitaka Makino (Arslan Senki (TV) episode director). Terumi Nishii (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai) and Kazuo Watanabe (Killing Bites) are designing the characters.

Hideyuki Kurata (Drifters) and Kaoru Kurosaki are handling the series composition, with Kurosaki also assisting Kurata with the script. Yuu Takami (Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin) is composing the music.

The first season aired in 24 episodes in Summer 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and dubs.

The anime series adapts Nobuhiro Watsuki‘s historical drama manga, which ran in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1994 to 1999. Watsuki and his wife Kaoru Kurosaki launched the Hokkaido-hen (Hokkaido Arc) sequel manga in Jump SQ. in November 2016. Shueisha published the ninth volume in November 2023.
