Second Season of ‘Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha’ Announced

The 10th Anniversary Memorial Fest! Overlap Bunko All-Star Gathering Special: Night Dream Fest announced a second season for the television anime adaptation of Yuu Okano‘s Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha (The Unwanted Undead Adventurer) light novel and revealed a visual (pictured) on Sunday.

The first season, produced by Connect, aired for 12 episodes in Winter 2024. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the anime with subtitles and an English dub.

Okano began writing the adventure fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2016. Overlap began printing the novel with illustrations by Jaian in October 2017. The 13th volume released in December 13, with the 14th volume scheduled to go on sale on December 25. Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha has a cumulative of over 2 million copies of its light novel and manga volumes in circulation.

Haiji Nakasone began drawing a manga adaptation on the Comic Gardo website in November 2017. Overlap released the 12th volume in December 2023.

J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga for digital release in English in February 2018 and April 2019, respectively. The 13th volume went on sale on August 1 and the 11th manga volume was released on April 26.
